The most important thing

Nicholas has always been a child who thinks "outside the box." It's one of the many things we love about him!

Last week we went to his class for Celebration of Learning, and his teacher Mrs. Trent had compiled a book similar to the book entitled "The important Book" by Margaret Wise Brown. Each child was to pick a subject.

In the original book, the author takes one subject and talks about what is most imortant. Here's an example: "The important thing about rain is that it is wet. It falls out of the sky, and it sounds like rain, and makes things shiny, and it does not taste like anything, and is the color of air. But the important thing about rain is that it is wet."

Nicholas chose the subject of a graveyard. In his own words he wrote: "The most important thing about a graveyard is that it collects people who had a life." Mrs. Trent was so surprised by his choice of words, that she placed Nicholas' page first in her most important book!
